William Harris is an old-time music publisher who made his daughter Pat a partner. Harris hates rock'n'roll and rejects all popular music submitted. His son-in-law, Steve, is more progressive and this leads to many fights between the two men. Sophie is Harris' secretary and Stubby is a song plugger who performs many of the songs submitted to the publisher.

Pat "Mrs. Baker" needs to see the Barbershop Quartet contest, which gets in the way of her anniversary celebration.

Stubby Picks a Winner
Stubby loans cash to a composer down on his luck and the man in returns gifts one of his songs. Stubby thinks he has a hit but must scheme to get the work published.

Child of Capricorn
Song plugger Stubby Wilson finds a songwriter in the hills and he brings the rube to the big city. Bill Harris agrees with Stubby that the man has written a song that will be a sure hit.

Guest Artist
Music publisher Bill Harris feels he is being pushed out of his own business by Pat, who is his partner and daughter. Harris schemes to get Pat back into the home and out of the firm.

Sophie's Engagement
The staff of Harris publishing are delighted when secretary Sophie announces plans to get married. As a wedding gift her boss William will publish a song of written by her fiance.

The Big Hit
Stubby rearranges Steve's song and it becomes a Big Hit after Sophie sings it on TV.

When Bernice Jordan decides not to renew her late husband's contract with the Harris Publishing Com-pany, Bill Harris attempts to soft-sell her into it.

Jennie's first grade at school is having a song writing contest. The youngster enlists the help of her grandfather, music publisher Bill Harris.

Stubby's Big Chance
Bill Harris and his tune touter, Stubby, part temporarily. Stubby refuses to accept a better job from a rival publisher out of loyalty to his boss. Bill hires a hotshot youngster to make Stubby resign to improve himself. Pat and Steve connive in a job to bring Bill and Stubby back together again.
